Nia Lauderdale has an extensive background in design and retail from all perspectives beginning her career as a Manager for Ann Taylor, Inc., a specialty women’s retailer then moving onto becoming a Trim Engineer for Johnson’s Controls, Inc. where she designed trim interiors for the Big 3 automotive companies (GM, Chrysler, and Ford) in addition to Toyota and Honda.

From there she made the transition to Chicago, IL taking her design expertise to Sears Holdings, Inc. into Global Sourcing working with product development teams, Designers, Merchandisers, and 80+ Manufactures/ Distributors to ensure timely product launches into retail stores across the country. 

​

The next step in her career was with Fortune 500 company W.W. Grainger, Inc., where her skill set was utilized as a Contract Specialist to negotiate costs of products, and terms and conditions with over 200+ Manufacturers/ Distributors. She also developed cross-functional teams to develop specs for suppliers and ensuring conformance to quality requirements.

She then moved onto Human Resources with major department stores, Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdales where she fostered a work environment where recruiting, talent development, coaching was key with retention of top talent at the Executive and store level.

Nia’s ongoing passion is as a Chicago-based Personal Fashion Stylist and Brand Ambassador who teaches her clients how to create and maintain a signature personal style using fashion as an essential visual tool as they navigate thru all of life’s challenges and major changes. Many making career changes needing the ability dress to new audiences while staying true to their unique selves.
